iPad mini creates more demand for the iPad. So Apple planned to ship the ipad mini nearly 12 Million units with in December 2012. First the company planned to ship 10 million iPad Mini but later due to the shortages of components, the company has reduced its volume down to 6 to 8 million units. During October and November shipping almost passed 8 million units. It can even ship more than 10 million units before December 31st.

Nearly 4 to 4.5 million iPad mini supplied in both October, November also in December. The same level will be expected in the first quarter of the 2013.The website from Asian zone is reporting that Apple has ordered iPad minis from 10 million units to 12 million units for strong sales. The official word from Apple said that it sold 3 million iPad mini and iPad 4 units combined, but the Apple didn’t revels about individual device sales.

According to the source of digitimes, “Apple originally estimated shipments of 10 million iPad minis for 2012, but due to component shortages caused by weak yields, Apple later adjusted the volume to only 6-8 million units. However, with yield rates improving, iPad mini shipments for the first two months of the fourth quarter have already surpassed eight million units, and should successfully break 10 million for the quarter with a chance to reach 12 million, the sources noted”.
