Huawei mobile is now pushing a software update for U.S variant of Mate 9 smartphone. This update carries bug fix and some optimizations for this device. The firmware will replace the current version MHA-L29C567B138 with newer version MHA-L29C567B167. Some users shared their software update screenshots on forums and other third party sites. As per the image the latest update comes in large size 553MB.

This update will fix the Google voice issue for certain carrier based Sim Card users. It will allow users to send and receive grouped messages from Non-MSISDN sim card. To deliver a richer experience it will show the contact names in group messages. Additionally it will also optimize the app drawer option on homescreen.

The new update is already in live and available to download via OTA. If the user receives automatic OTA notification then download and follow the installation steps. The firmware will not erase your personal files but for safety backup it to removable storage. The update will display the quick update option if you tap that button it will immediately download and install the update.
