Huawei mobile has started to upgrade the Mate 9 handset to android 8.0 oreo in U.S. This handset was first released in Nov 2016 and then they brought it to USA in January 2017. Right now they were pushing this major software update to unlocked GSM units (international model) – MHA-L29 and MHA-L09. Users who own the Mate 9 handset will receive this firmware update via OTA.

This oreo update for Mate 9 will arrive with new build number C567. It also adds new features to Mate 9 such as EMUI 8.0, A.I enhancements, 3D panorama & portrait camera modes, January 2018 latest security patch, dynamic wallpaper and more. Along with these it includes some familiar oreo features like picture in picture mode, notification dots, enhanced battery saver and bug fixes.

Remember it’s a major update, so use the uninterrupted connection like WiFi to download this update. The OTA update will be rolling out in phases, so it will take time to reach all devices. If you can’t stay calm then tap the Settings menu and check for software updates under System update menu.
