LG going to roll out the Android 4.1.2 jelly bean update for Optimus 4X HD, Optimus L7. LG has confirmed the update via its official German blog. The update is available only for unlocked versions of P880 Optimus 4X HD and P700 Optimus L7 devices. Carrier based subsidizing will have to wait for the update until the carrier approve the update.

The Jelly Bean update includes the UI optimizations of Project Butter and includes Google Now. Also the features include faster NFC through Android Beam 2.0, Wi-Fi protected setup (WPS). The update also improves smoother operation, constant frame rate by Vertical Sync, responsiveness, extensible alerts, Google integration. Using Mobile Support-Tool the user can update their devices. The update will roll out at the end of March. But there is no exact release. The date may be extend.

Before going to start the update back up all data. Click on "Install USB Driver", choose your smartphone (4X HD = P880, P700 = L7, L9 = P670) waits from the download. The USB driver can be found then to install to c: <device_name> as e.g. c: P880 for P880 Optimus 4X HD if the installation does not start automatically.

Make sure that the mass storage mode or Media transfer mode is not enabled. Disable this option if under Settings -> Memory Management - out> check "USB storage". Otherwise, just select the mode "PC Software". Please be patient, the update process will stop occasionally for a few minutes (up to 30).
