Motorola’s Atrix HD Android developer’s edition smart phone is going to be released. Developer’s edition smart phone comes with unlocked boot loader, this boot loader allow us to install custom firmware and some kind of changes.  One of the big drawbacks is if we unlock the boot loader then the warranty become void.

Motorola has provided a unique code to unlock the handset, users are free to install their own custom versions of Android, run test versions of apps, and generally customize the phone according to their wishes. The price and available date of this developer’s edition was unknown. Also we cannot expect this developer’s edition at lowest price.

On 6^th November Motorola states that, “We’re happy to announce that the MOTOROLA ATRIX™ HD will be available in a Developer Edition and also be a supported device in the Boot loader Unlock program. It has the same features and specs as the regular MOTOROLA ATRIX HD, but allows the infinite customization possibilities offered by an unlockable boot loader.  Unlocking a boot loader isn’t for everyone, but for some, it’s a must-have.You should only unlock the boot loader if you’re comfortable with the process and know exactly what you’re doing, since you will be voiding the warranty and risking data and functionality loss.”

The bad thing is that, once user get the unlock code; the Smartphone is no longer covered by the Motorola warranty. The good thing is that you'll be able to customize the ATRIX HD Developer Edition infinitely. Once boot loader is unlocked all the data’s in the phone will be erased and the user must download the applications via Google play store.
