HMD owned Nokia has released new software update for Nokia 5 and 6 handsets. It will update the android security patch level of both handsets to March 2018. This march update will patch the security bug in media framework that may grant hackers to access your device remotely using specially crafted file. The report claims, this security firmware update is now live in several regions like UK, Germany, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hungary, Philippines, Greece, Tunisia and Sri Lanka.
They were rolling out this March update for the following model numbers - Nokia 6 (TA-1021, TA-1025, TA-1033) and Nokia 5 (TA-1024, TA-1044, TA-1053). The screenshot of this update reveals the download size for both devices. For Nokia 5 the software update will weigh in 132.3 MB while the download size for Nokia 6 will be in 132 MB.
Nokia will seed this march security update via OTA in phases. You can use either WiFi or Mobile data to download this update. In case of using the cellular data means, we’re strictly warning it may lead to additional costs if you’re in roaming or excess usage of data. The manufacturer will expand this OTA roll out to other countries in the upcoming days.
