After upgrading the Nokia 6 (2018), HMD global is now pushing out new security software update for Nokia 6 (2017) model. This first generation handset is currently running on Nougat 7.1.2 version. The latest firmware will apply the January 2018 security patch for this handset. It also carries the patch for Spectre and Meltdown security issues.

The report confirms the security firmware is now available in Poland region. The update screenshot notifies they were rolling out this software through OTA. This security update weighs in 123 MB and requires wifi or mobile data for download. For error-free installation use recommended and uninterrupted network connection for download.

HMD Global is currently testing the Android 8.0 Oreo on Nokia 6 via Beta Labs Program. But they didn’t announce the release date of stable version. We can expect the company may push the stable oreo update within Q1 2017.
