Nokia and Microsoft started to rollout of Windows Phone 7.8 update. Now Nokia Lumia 800 owners have received the long awaited Windows Phone 7.8 Tango update. The Lumia 800 is the first smartphone to receive the upgrade, the other Lumia handset also yet to get the update within next few days. The update consists of four steps.

Windows Phone 7.8 update is now available for download via Zune desktop software, so Lumia 800 owners might want to connect their smartphones to a PC and check for the update. It appears that the major upgrade has been split into four smaller updates, 7.10.8773, 7.10.8779.8, 7.10.8783 and 7.10.8858.136, which will be downloaded and installed on the Lumia 800 in this order.

The update brings a number of improvements with a Windows Phone 8 style splash screen and resizable the live tiles on the display. The other Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 7.5 models owners might want to check to see if the update is waiting for your device by connecting to Zune desktop software. But there will be no update to Windows Phone 8 for owners of the Nokia Lumia 800device.
