OnePlus is now rolling out next wave of Android Oreo based OxygenOS beta update for OnePlus 5 and 5T. This new beta firmware will arrive as Open Beta 2 for OnePlus 5T and Open Beta 4 for OnePlus 5. This update adds new features, system enhancements, launcher version upgraded to v2.3 and other bug fixes. The company has published the full changelog of this beta update on their forums. The listing reveals the release notes are common for both handsets.

Here are the lists of changes that are included with in the latest beta build for 5 and 5T:

Launcher (v2.3):

• Drawer Categories - If you tap the search icon in the drawer it will show the new categories

• Auto Folder Tagging - It will automatically rename the applications folder which are having similar names

• Notification dot optimization – The new blue notification dots will prompt the user that newly installed app will be automatically removed after 15 days

• New dynamic clock icon and added helpful tips for first time use of launcher

System:

• The app logic has been optimized to manage the high power consumption apps

• Intelligent background application management solution has been added

• Power consumption measurements has been enhanced

• Other optimizations and bug fixes

Application:

• Adds new OnePlus switch app to backup and restore your device data on other OnePlus handset

• Adds new feature to Clipboard which allow users to search, edit, translate and share options for the copied text

• File Manager – File deletion experience has been improved and adds large file management functionality

• Dialer – they’ve added more details for the incoming call notification

Known issue:

• After installing this update, you may experience incompatibility issues with third party camera apps
