AT&T wireless is now sending out January security patch update for Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note Edge users. Both flagship handsets were launched in 2014 and many of them till using these mobiles. The carrier officially updated the changelog for both devices at their support page. The galaxy s5 will get this update in new build number G900AUCU4DQA1. The OTA download size also comes in big 192MB. Along with January patch it also receives performance improvements and bug fixes.
The company also rolled out this security update to Galaxy Note Edge devices. The update carries fresh build number N915AUCS2DPK3 for this mobile. The update file arrives in small size 36.5 MB. It will just update the security patch level to January 1, 2017. Note this security firmware will be available only for AT&T network powered samsung handsets. The carrier has rolling out this software update through FOTA.
If your device is eligible then the upgrade notification will be available for your device. Otherwise you want to wait for your turn to get the automatic notification. The user can also check the update manually from Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check for updates.
