For the past few months, we’ve seen the lots of rumors about the Samsung’s 2018 models of Galaxy A8 series. Today Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8 Plus (2018). This is the first handset from Samsung that comes with dual front facing cameras.   Followed by Note 8 and S8 series, Samsung have used the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio in these handsets. But this time they’ve downgraded the screen resolution of both handsets to FHD+.

Samsung has scheduled to roll out these mid-range mobiles from January 2018 earlier. Sadly they didn’t reveal the launch price of these smartphones. Also Samsung didn’t mention any word about the country wise availability. We need to wait until Samsung confirms the price and exact launch of these devices.

Talking about specs, Galaxy A8 (2018) comes with 5.6-inch display while the A8 Plus (2018) display has been upgraded to 6-inch. Both handsets have same screen resolution FHD+ (2220 x 1080). Memory options for A8 (2018) are 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB onboard storage. But the A8 Plus (2018) sports 4GB RAM + 32GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. Both models support memory expansion up to 256GB via microSD card. Battery capacity for A8 and A8 Plus handsets are 3000 mAh and 3500 mAh.

Apart from these other specs are common for both models – android 7.1.1 nougat os, Exynos 7885 chipset, octa core processor, 16MP single camera at back, 16MP + 8MP dual camera lens at front, rear mounted fingerprint sensor, Type-C USB, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual Band Wifi, 4G LTE with Cat11 speed and more. These handsets are arriving in four optional colors black, blue, gold and orchid grey.
