Users who bought Samsung Galaxy S8 Active from T-Mobile and AT&T carriers are receiving a software update. It brings the most awaited Android 8.0 Oreo OS update for this device. Both t-mobile and at&t carriers have affirmed this roll out by updating the support pages. This software update is already live in U.S and will be available for download via OTA.

Both carriers have released the same android 8.0 oreo update, but the baseband version differs for AT&T and T-Mobile. If you own AT&T variant, then the baseband version will be in G892AUCU2BRC5. For T-Mobile models, the update will arrive with the following baseband version G892USQU1BRC4.

The download size also varies by carrier 1.25 GB for AT&T units and 1.3 GB for T-Mobile units. The android 8.0 oreo features are common for both carriers - Samsung Experience 9.0, March 2018 security patch, Biometric enhancements, picture in picture mode, autofill, notification dots, Samsung Keyboard, new clock styles on lock screen and still more exciting features are there. Along with these new additions, it will also optimize the system stability and perform bug fixes.

Both T-Mobile and AT&T carriers have begun the Oreo roll out, so it will not take much time to reach all devices. The download files are too big, so use the WiFi connection for error-free download. If you hold the S8 active and didn’t receive the update yet, try to invoke it from Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.
