Samsung has begun to roll out new software update for Galaxy S8/S8+ handsets. It seems like the update brings new features  to camera and also installs the latest security patch. The report claims, this firmware is already on live and will be available for download via OTA. We’ve also added the screenshot of this update which reveals the changelog and download size.

Coming to camera features, it adds AR Emoji and Super Slow Motion video support to Galaxy S8/S8+. These features are currently available on Galaxy Note 9 and S9 range devices. With galaxy s8/s8+ you can record Super slow motion videos (720p) at 480 fps only. But the Note 9 and S9 devices can capable to record super slow motion video (720p) at 960 fps. Don’t know why samsung had put a limit for this feature on Galaxy S8.

Along with that camera updates, they’ve also updated the security patch level with September 1 2018. The update will not stop with that it will also improve the device stability and perform bug fixes. The software version of this OTA update will arrive as G950FXXU4CR15 (for S8). This featured update weighs in 553 MB, so use uninterrupted internet connection for download. If you own Galaxy S8/S8+ charge it above 50 percent and wait for the automatic OTA prompt, you can manually the check for software updates from Settings menu.
