AT&T carrier is now rolling out a new firmware update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners in U.S. It will bump the security patch level of both devices to October 1 2017. The new update will not make any change in android os version and will remain at version 7.0. The security update for S7 and S7 Edge will arrive in the following baseband versions – G930AUCS4BQJ2 and G935AUCS4BQJ2.
This software update will also fix the recently spotted BlueBorne security issue. This bug will lead the hackers to access your device remotely via bluetooth. The download size of this patch update for S7 and S7 Edge will be in 135 MB. AT&T has also updated this changelog at the support page of these devices.
The software update will roll out in phases via regular OTA. If the automatic OTA didn’t reach your device you can check for manual update from Settings menu. Before checking or downloading this update, charge the battery level minimum 50 percent. Also use the recommended data connection to download this firmware.
