As scheduled, Samsung unwrapped their most expected flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 8 via live event in New York. It’s the successor model of Galaxy Note 7, everyone will remember this device and also discontinued by the company because of explode issue. Unlike its predecessor, Samsung has crafted this smartphone carefully and also upgraded the features.
The galaxy note 8 has 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display and uses the same Quad HD+ Infinity display with 18:5:9 aspect ratio. We have already seen this screen resolution S8 range of mobiles. It comes in two chipset variants – Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with octa core processor and Exynos 8895 (9 Series) with octa core processor. It will be available in three storage options 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. All variants are sports 6GB (LPDDR4) RAM. Additionally they’ve also included microSD card slot that can be expandable up to 256GB.
At back it has 12MP + 12MP dual camera lens that also features Dual OIS sensor, Dual Pixel AF, 2X optical zoom, live focus and more. Coming to front, it houses 8MP camera for clear selfies. The note 8 preloaded with S Pen which has exciting features like IP68 water & dust proof, 07mm pen tip, 4096 pressure level, live message, smart select etc.
Other preloaded options are android 7.1.1 nougat os, fingerprint, Iris scanner, NFC, Bixby key, 4G LTE Cat16 (Gigabit speed), Bluetooth 5.0, Type-C USB, IP68 dust & water resistant, hybrid dual sim or single sim models, ultra high quality audio and more. Talking about power, it packed with 3300 mAh which supports fast charging & wireless charging technology. Color options are Midnight black, Deepsea Blue, Maple Gold and Orchid Gray.
The galaxy note 8 is already pop-up for preorder in U.S via carrier networks and other online retailers. They have scheduled to roll out this handset in U.S on September 15. The unlocked or full retail price of this device will be $929 (U.S) / £869 (UK) / €999 (Europe). T-Mobile carrier revealed the contract price as - $210 as down and due come as $30/month (up to 24 months) or $0 upfront and $39 per month (for 24 months) with JUMP! Plan.
Verizon carrier has listed this device for 24-months plan that requires $40/month and doesn’t need any upfront. The no-contract price at this carrier is $960.
AT&T carrier offers the device in 30-months contract without any initial cost under AT&T Next plan. The balance must be paid as $31.67 per month. The retail price at this carrier is $949.99.
Finally the Sprint network listed this phone for $960 at full price. Under Sprint Flexi 18 month plan the user can lease this handset $0 upfront and monthly payment becomes $40. Customers who would like to upgrade to sprint network will get 50% discount on Galaxy Note 8.
