There are rumors already that Galaxy S4 will feature the flexible OLED display screen. Samsung unveiled world’s first flexible display dubbed as YOUM for the year 2013 at CES 2013. This Youm display can be expected in the Samsung’s next generation flagship device. Samsung’s next generation smart phone galaxy S4 may come with this Youm display.

Samsung unveiled the first prototypes of these bendable screens. The prototype showed a paper thin screen that can be bent multiple times. It was followed by another prototype which was bent on the sides to reveal messages without even opening the cover. The display could be folded like a wallet, book and can be rolled up.

This flexible display with OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) provides a sharper image compared to LED also help to improve the battery life. The flexible screen Youm display features the thin form factor and provides the better colors and contrast. The same technology was showcased by Samsung in CES 2011, but after two years that was improved and come as Youm Display.

Brain Berkeley, the senior vice president of Samsung’s display lab in San Jose, Calif. said that this technology will let the company’s partners make bendable, rollable, and foldable displays. The screen of the Youm prototype device stretched out to the edge of the device. So you can able to see notifications and widget even the device is laid down flat on the table.
