Samsung has officially affirmed that they had scheduled an event on Feb 25 to unveil the new Galaxy S9 series smartphones. They’ve named this launch event as Samsung Galaxy unpacked 2018 and also planned to live stream this event. Today the official press images and full specifications of the upcoming S9 and S9 Plus handsets have been updated by the popular leakster (rquandt) on his twitter page.

Along with that he also revealed the release date and color options of these smartphones. Lets see the comparison specs of S9 and S9 Plus, to understand what are the major changes they’ve done on this handsets.

Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus:

Samsung didn’t made any changes in display design both Galax S9 and S9+ follow its predecessor model S8 and S8+. The galaxy s9 comes with 5.8-inch display while the S9+ comes with 6.2-inch display. Both models have Super AMOLED, QHD+ (2960x1440) resolution, infinity display and the aspect ratio will be 18.5:9. Another interesting fact is that S9/S9+ will launch with android 8.0 oreo as pre-installed os.

Samsung will release the S9 series in two variants – one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and other with Exynos 9 9810. The galaxy s9 will sport 4GB RAM and the plus model has 6GB RAM. Both models have 64GB of internal storage and uses UFS 2.1 storage technology for faster transfer rate. If you feel the memory is not enough so you can expand the storage via microSD card

The s9 smartphone comes with single 12MP camera at back while the s9+ have dual 12MP + 12MP camera lens at back. But the selfie cameras for both models are similar 8MP. Other features are fingerprint sensor, iris scanner, face recognition sensor, IP68 water & dust resistant, dual or single sim slots, Wifi, NFC, Type-C USB, Bluetooth 5.0 and more.

The battery capacity of S9 and S9+ mobiles are 3000 mAh and 3500 mAh. Both handsets are capable to support wireless charging and fast charging technologies. It will be available in four optional colors Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Purple and Titanium Gray. The availability of these colors will vary by country wise.

Samsung will also present these flagship smartphones at the MWC 2018 event on this February 2018. The report suggests both S9 and S9 Plus will pop-up for preorder on Feb 25 and the deliveries will start from March 8 in selected countries.
