Preorders of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones are now live for Indian market. These two successor mobiles were unveiled by the Samsung at MWC 2018 event. Right now the flipkart retailer is accepting the preorder of these handsets in India. You can also pre-book these mobiles at Samsung official stores and other selected offline stores. Both S9 and S9 Plus arrives in two storage models 64GB and 256GB.
The launch price of Galaxy S9 in India will be Rs. 57,900 for 64GB variant and Rs. 65,900 for 256 GB variant. While the price of S9 Plus will start from Rs. 64,900 (64GB model) and Rs. 72,900 (256GB model). The 256 GB storage variant of S9 and S9 Plus will be available in Midnight Black color version only.
Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9 Plus Specs:
Just like its predecessors, the galaxy s9 and s9 plus are also using the same infinity display - 5.8-inch (for S9) and 6.2-inch (for S9+). Both models have Quad HD+ (2960 x 1440) screen resolution, 18.5:9 aspect ratio and corning gorilla glass 5 protection. The Indian version of S9/S9+ will be equipped with Samsung’s own chipset Exynos 9810. The galaxy s9 will come with 4GB RAM while the s9 plus model will arrive with 6GB RAM.
The storage options are common for both handsets - 64GB and 256GB. Further the device also supports expandable memory via microSD card. This handset sports hybrid sim slot, so you need to swap the second sim card slot to use the microSD card. It will be pre-installed with Android Oreo latest version, later they may release Android P (9.0) version upgrade.
Talking about camera, the galaxy s9 comes with 12MP single back camera and 8MP selfie camera. Unlike S9, the Plus houses dual rear cameras 12MP + 12MP and same 8MP selfie camera at front. Both camera features live focus, super slow motion video 960 fps, 4K video recording, hyperlapse, EIS Sensor and more.
Like S8, it also has back mounted fingerprint sensor and front located iris scanner for stronger security. Other preloaded features are AKG tuned stereo speakers, WiFi, NFC, Samsung Pay, IP68 water & dust proof, Type-C USB 3.1, Bluetooth 5.1, MIMO and still more are there.
Coming to power, the battery capacity of S9 is 3000 mAh while the S9 Plus has the upgrade one 3500 mAh. Both models are compatible with fast wireless (WPC/PMA) charging technology. The color options are also similar for S9 and S9 Plus – midnight black, coral blue and lilac purple.
Samsung has scheduled to roll out these handsets globally from March 16. The flipkart also notifies the release date of S9/S9+ as March 16 for India.
