At last AT&T wireless carrier has released the android 6.0.1 marshmallow software update for Samsung Galaxy S6 (G920A) and S6 Edge (G925A) users. The carrier will roll out this software update through FOTA (firmware over the air). If you are using the AT&T powered samsung s6 series handsets you are eligible to receive this latest update. The att carrier also updated the change logs at the support page of samsung s6 and s6 edge smartphones. After the update the build number of galaxy s6 and s6 edge will be MMB29K.G920AUCU3CPD6. It will also update the android security patch level to May 1.

This firmware update comes with new improvements like enabled video call, full preload for amazon and AT&T Mail & YP mobile moved to virtual preload. They have also removed the applications Keeper, AT&T live and FB Messenger. It will also enhance the handset performance and fix the known bugs.

The software update comes in large size 1.45GB. The s6 and s6 edge users will receive the software update notification from AT&T. If you got that alert download the latest update file, the handset will restart automatically while installing the update. The user can postpone the update maximum 3 times (4 hours per interval). After reaching the maximum postpone it will automatically download and install the update. Once you see the ‘Update Complete’ status verify the android version from Settings which will show Android 6.0.1.
