Samsung officially debut their most expected smartphone Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ through live streaming event. Both handsets share the same design but vary in display size. The company uses Quad HD+ rounded corner display with 18.5:9 wider aspect ratio for this mobile. Earlier LG released G6 mobile with same rounded corner display technology. Samsung also introduced Bixby voice assistant with a dedicated key on left side.

Talking about specs, the galaxy s8 comes with 5.8-inch display while the galaxy s8+ model has 6.2-inch display. The battery capacity also differs for s8 and s8+ mobiles – 3000 mAh and 3500 mAh. Except these changes other specs are common for both handsets.

The galaxy s8/s8+ includes Super AMOLED display, Quad HD+ (2960 x 1440 pixels), hybrid dual/single sim models, android 7.0 nougat os, TouchWiz UI, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage with UFS 2.1 and microSD card slot. It will be available in two chipset version one with Qualcomm snapdragon 835 and Exynos 9 8895. Coming to camera it has 12MP Dual Pixel sensor at back and 8MP front camera.

We have already seen this camera in S7 series but this time Samsung enhances the camera software for S8 series. Other highlighted features are WiFi, NFC, Fingerprint sensor, Pressure sensor, Iris Sensor, Heart Rate sensor, Bluetooth 5.0, Type-C USB, Cat16 4G speed (1024 Mbps DL) and more. The galaxy s8 series also support wireless charging and fast charging on both wired & wireless.

Samsung also reveals the official release date of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus as April 21. With these mobiles they have unveiled smart accessories like Gear VR headset, Gear 360 camera and Samsung Dex dock for desktop connectivity. From March 30 the carrier models s8 and s8 plus will pop up for preorder in USA. The full retail price of Galaxy S8 at AT&T, T-Mobile is $750 and for S8+ it will be priced $850. The contract price starts from $25/month (up to 30 months) at AT&T and $30/month at T-Mobile ($30 upfront). The galaxy s8+ requires $28.34/month (up to 30 months) in AT&T Next and $30/month with $130 as down on T-mobile.

Verizon carrier will charge $720 for S8 and $840 for S8 Plus. They also offer 2-year contract price that requires $30/month for Galaxy S8 and $35/month for Galaxy S8+. The color options of galaxy s8 series are midnight black, orchid gray, arctic silver, coral blue and maple gold.

If you are expecting unlocked or sim-free variant in U.S you need to wait until May 9. The s8 and s8+ unlocked models will be available in U.S for $724.99 and $824.99.
