Now we’re in mid July many brands have begun to release latest security patch for their devices. Samsung has also joined this line-up by rolling out July 2017 month security patch update for Galaxy A7 (2017). This device still runs on android 6.0.1 marshmallow os, but it receiving the regular security update. The new software version for galaxy a7 (2017) will come as A720FXXU2AQFA. The company has also updated the bulletin list at their mobile security blog.

According to the report, the Security Maintenance Release (SMR) bundle carries the patch from both Google and Samsung. Google patch carries the fix for 14 critical issues, 36 high priority issues, 14 moderate priority issues and 1 low priority issue. The patch from Samsung will fix 16 SVE (Samsung Vulnerabilities & Exposures).

Apart from this security patch, the firmware will also optimize the some features and tweaks the device performance. The OTA update has already started in selected regions and rolling out in batch wise. If you’ve this device then perform manual update from Settings > About device > System Update.
