Users who own T-Mobile powered Samsung Galaxy Note 8 devices are started to receive new software update. This firmware update brings new software version N950USQU5CRIA. The update has been confirmed by reddit user and also shared the screenshot on this forum. Still the carrier didn’t updated the support page of Galaxy Note 8 and it remains at previous version.
The software update for Galaxy Note 8 adds September 1 2018 security patch, along with that it also carries Super Slow Motion Video (720p at 960 fps) and AR Emoji features. Samsung didn’t specify these two features on their changelog, but the reddit user had verified these details via screenshot. Apart from these changes, the update will also tweak the system stability, performance improvements and bug fixes.
The galaxy note 8 users will receive this update as OTA in phases. This update weighs in 445.95 MB (nearly 0.5 GB), so use recommended internet connection like WiFi for download. It looks like the carrier started the roll out just now which means the full-fledged release not yet happen, so you need to wait few more days. To initiate the update manually go to Settings > Software Update > Download updates manually.
