Verizon announced the Software update for the Samsung Stratosphere.  Verizon and Samsung are sending out the software update to Samsung Stratosphere I405 through Over the Air (OTA). The Device was initially launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread Operating system. More than a year and a half after the launch the update was rolled out for the device. You may expect this is the Android OS Update but the update is not for OS. This is the software update for the device  improvements and to fixes the bugs.

The Update adds some features to the smartphone like improved clarity during calls, improved reliability when sending emails, improvements in Synchronization, improvements in Setup Wizard, Improvements in My-Verizon Applications. The update corrects the IMAP implementation for email synchronization. Update also removes some preloaded applications like IM, Blockbuster, Verizon video, Verizon Vcast. The Single Sign-on applications also updated to the version v3.1.9. VZtones also updated to the version 5.1.3.
