Do you own Verizon powered Galaxy J7 V and Galaxy J7 Prepaid handsets then there is a new software update waiting for you. It’s just a patch update i.e. it will install the June 1 2018 security patches on both devices. The carrier has confirmed this firmware roll out by updating the support pages of these handsets.
The new software version for Galaxy J7 V will be in NRD90M.J727VVRS2ARF1, while the version for Galaxy J7 Prepaid is NRD90M.J727VPPVRS2ARF1. Apart from the june month patches, this software update will also rectify bugs and improves system performance.
Verizon carrier will push this security patch update for both handsets via OTA. Usually the patch update will be in small sizes so you can either use WiFi or mobile data to download this firmware. If the automatic OTA update didn’t pop-up on your handset means you can initiate it manually from Settings > About Device > Software updates. Before downloading the update, charge your mobile battery to recommended level, otherwise it may lead to error at download or installation.
