Like Samsung and HTC the Sony Mobiles also going to get the Android 4.1.1 jelly bean update. Sony smart phones Xperia T, Xperia TX, Xperia S, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia P, Xperia go, Xperia j and Xperia v is going to get a jelly bean update. With all these only Xperia t, Xperia TX, Xperia S get jelly bean update at the first quarter of 2013 announced by Sony in October 19.The update date for the other models in the list was not yet announced. Sony states “Our latest models, Xperia T and Xperia TX are shipping across global markets as you read this post, and Xperia V is on the way shortly – these smart phones will begin to receive the upgrade to Jelly Bean from mid-Q1 2013 “.
The jelly bean upgrade for older Sony phones released in 2011 was not announced. For this issue Sony says, they will not guarantee the user experience and demand the user actually expect, if the phones get jelly bean update that is higher than ice cream sandwich. Sony announces, ” We were glad to provide the Android 4.0.4 upgrade for our 2011 Xperia portfolio across most markets and the majority of models but, after thorough evaluation, we have concluded they will not be upgraded beyond Ice Cream Sandwich”.
