Sony Mobile has released a software update for the Xperia T and Xperia TX that adds a few key media improvements and a feature that is designed to improve the battery life on both Android 4.0-powered devices. One of the most significant new feature is support for HD Voice, which filters out background noise and improves the sound quality of voices in the earpiece.
Screen Mirroring through WiFi Miracast, a wireless standard that connects compatible mobile devices to compatible TV's. Anything that appears on the phone's screen - photos, videos, games, or browser - will appear on the TV. Extended Standby mode, a feature that offers 4 times as much standby time compared to standard levels.
Sony Media applications have been added to both the Xperia T and Xperia TX. Sony uses its Album app that improves photo and video displays, as well as automatic slideshows; a Movies app with simple controls; and a new WALKMAN app that features mood-based playlist generation, an elegant UI, and downloadable song info and album art.
Sony is rolling out the update in select markets now, but users can visit the software update pageto get more information on how to install and update in your device .The Xperia T is sold as the TL by AT&T in the U.S. AT&T hasn't said if its variant of the Xperia T will receive this software update.
