Just a day ago, Xiaomi’s flagship smartphones Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro went for its first flash sale in Indian market. At the time of debut Xiaomi has assured that these smartphones will receive face unlock update before the March end. Without any announcement today the company has silently started to push the Face Unlock update for Redmi Note 5 Pro device. The update has been received by the Indian user and also posted the screenshot on twitter page.

This new software update will arrive as MIUI V9.2.4.0.MEIMIEK and also they were seeding the stable version, not beta. According to the screenshot, this latest firmware update weighs in huge size 1.6 GB and will be available via OTA. We recommend the users to download this OTA update with WiFi network, if you use mobile data it may lead to additional charges.

Apart from the face unlock feature, it also includes camera enhancements, system stability related optimizations and other bug fixes. As usual, the OTA roll out will happen in phases and take some time to reach all handsets. If you didn’t receive the OTA then you can check for manual update from Settings menu. If the above method fails don’t be sad, still you can download the official ROM and flash it on your device.
