Xiaomi India has announced the Android 8.1 Oreo based MIUI 9.5 software update for Redmi Note 5 Pro users. They have confirmed this roll out by posting a tweet on their official twitter page. Xiaomi will start to push the Stable MIUI 9.5 update in India from June 29 (i.e. this Friday) onwards. Also intimated the firmware update will be available for download via OTA and the roll out will happen in phases.

The report claims, some users have received the notification and also installed this update on their devices. We have also added the installed screenshot of MIUI 9.5 update. It reveals that the update will also bring the May 2018 android security patch for this device.

However the manufacturer didn’t disclose the official changelog, but based on earlier leaks we have updated the release notes. Some of major features included in MIUI 9.5 update are Project Treble support, 4K video recording and dual 4G VoLTE. Apart from this new features this update will mainly focus on bug fixes and optimizations.

Suppose if your device didn’t receive the MIUI 9.5 update in first phase, just stay calm and wait for the next phase. You can also manually check for the update from Settings > About Phone > System update.
