After teased for few weeks, Xiaomi has finally announced Redmi Y3 budget smartphone with 32MP selfie camera in Indian market. It’s the successor version of Redmi Y2 which was launched by Xiaomi on last year June 2018. Like its predecessor, this handset will also exclusive to Amazon India, Mi.com and Mi Home. Xiaomi has also revealed the pricing and release date of this handset in this live launch event.
The launch price of Redmi Y3 will start from Rs.9,999 for 3GB + 32GB version and Rs.11,999 for 4GB + 64GB version. The first sale of Redmi Y3 has been scheduled in India on April 30 via Amazon, Mi.com and Mi Home. Soon this handset will be in-stock at Mi stores, Mi Studio and other partner stores.
Redmi Y3 features 6.26-inch Dot notch display with HD+ screen (19:9 aspect ratio) and the front and back parts are covered by gorilla glass 5. It runs on android 9 pie os with MIUI 10 skin on top. This handset will be powered by Qualcomm snapdragon 632 chipset and octa core processor. It arrives in two storage versions 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. Additionally this device houses dedicated microSD card slot which can be expandable up to 512GB.
Coming to camera, this handset has 12MP + 2MP dual rear cameras that includes 1080p @ 60 fps video recording, EIS sensor, AI camera modes and so on. It also has 32MP super selfie camera at front with that you can take perfect and clear selfie shots. The fingerprint key has been mounted on the back while the 360 degree face unlock has embedded within the front camera.
Other features are WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, Dual VoLTE, micro USB 2.0, Galileo GPS, Aura Prism design and more are there. It packed with 4000 mAh non-removable battery that support 5V/2A regular charge. Redmi Y3 comes in three color options Prime Black, Elegant Blue and Bold Red.
Along with Redmi Y3, Xiaomi has also launched Redmi 7 (successor of Redmi 6) another entry level smartphone in India. Both Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7 handsets share same specifications, but not all. The Redmi 7 comes with 8MP selfie camera, 2GB / 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and gradient body. Apart from these changes other features are common on both devices. Coming to pricing, Redmi 7 with 2GB + 32GB storage priced at Rs.7999 while the pricing of 3GB + 32GB storage is Rs.8,999. This handset will go for sale in India from April 29 onwards via Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi Home.
