The ever booming Smartphone market especially with the mid and budget range smartphones are full of models and variants that closely resemble one another. Although we are going to talk about the Redmi Note 8 review in this article, we would first like to say that these mid to low range smartphones have little to distinguish between themselves. The smartphone manufacturers need to keep their production and market alive and fresh with new release every quarters. Here, it is noteworthy that Xiaomi has introduced a good number of Redmi Phones in this range. In India, there are about a dozen Redmi phones available for under Rs.15000. These Redmi phones have slightly tweaked RAM, CPU, internal storage and ROM capacity.

Redmi Note 8 Design and Look

The Note 8 comes with a design much like the Redmi 8 launched earlier. There's little difference between the two and the Note 8 features a 6.3 inch notched screen. It's pretty much ordinary designed except for the highlight contour which is not the biggest impression in itself. The camera is positioned in a corner and stuck out pretty much. Sandwitched between Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, Redmi Note 8 is not so much slippery and the grip is good actually.

Performance and Battery Life

The Full HD+ screen gives a bright and crisp display. You won't find much to complaint about. The single speaker handles sound well and the fingerprint as well as face recognition works pretty fast too. For gamers, PUBG Mobile is loaded with lowest graphics settings. However, manually changing these settings to higher ones does the job although there is heating while playing the game for some minutes.

The battery performance is satisfactory and easily lasts for a day. Be it playing games, streaming videos and taking photos every now and then, the battery accomodates well for that.

Redmi Note 8 Camera Review

So, this is the Redmi Note 8 defining feature of the device and main 48MP camera is supported by 8MP and 2MP cameras, along with a 2MP sensor. The cameras give a clear and detailed picture in normal daylight. It does, however, suffer in dim light conditions. Capturing of moving objects is it's one weakness. In regard to the videos, it handles 1080p videos well. The 4k videos is however, more of a namesake.

Conclusion and Final Verdict

Being one of the latest release, the Redmi Note 8 is in direct competition with Realme 5 and Vivo U10. However, it does have one of the best combination of RAM, ROM and screen resolution at this price range. There will definitely be moew choices if your budget can stretch. But it does everyday task well with ease. With more and more variants coming into the market in this proce range, it's getting more and more difficult to pick a choice.
