Today Xiaomi mobiles announced the Redmi Note successor smartphones at an event in China. These smartphones are named as Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime. The difference between the two smartphones is storage and processor speed. Rest of the features of both smartphones are similar identical.
The successor smartphone has 5.5-inch Full HD display, mediatek helio x10 chipset, octa core processor, android 5.0 lollipop os and 2GB RAM. The prime variant has 32 GB internal storage and 2.2 GHz processor speed where Note 2 model has 16 GB storage and 2GHz speed. It comes with 13MP back camera and 5MP selfie camera. The camera features fast focus (0.1s), samsung sensor, PDAF focus and 1080p video recording and more. It includes the connectivity features WiFi, 4G, bluetooth, GPS and USB. It has 3060 mAh battery with Quick Charge support.
Xiaomi will roll out this smartphone in China from August 16 in two storage variants 16GB and 32 GB. The 16 GB model will be available for 799 chinese yuan ($125) and 32 GB model for 999 chinese yuan ($155). Along with this they also announced the MIUI 7 based on android 5.1 lollipop. From tomorrow the new MIUI 7 will be rolled out to Mi and Redmi series devices in China. For India it will be available from August 19.
