GPRS can be used for Cellular networking services such as Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) access, Short Message Service (SMS) , Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) , and for Internet communication services such as email and World Wide Web access. The higher data rates of GPRS allows users to take part in video conferences and interact with multimedia Web sites and similar applications using mobile handheld devices. With the help of the GPRS the user can use the Internet anywhere at any time.When GPRS is in use, other network related functions cannot be used.GPRS Usage cost is vary per kilobyte or megabyte depending on the service provider.

 

Depends on the service GPRS can be categorized as Class a, Class B etc. Class A Can be connected to GPRS service and GSM service (voice, SMS), using both at the same time. Class B Can be connected to GPRS service and GSM service (voice, SMS), but using only one or the other at a given time. One service will be suspended at the use of another one and vice versa. Class C can be connected to either GPRS service or GSM service (voice, SMS). The service must be switched by manually.GPRS Varies depends on the speed like Class 10, Class 12, Class 32, Class 33.Class 10  has the speed of 236.8 kbps = 29 KB/s and class 32 has te speed of 296 kbps = 37 KB/s.
