Android 8.1 Oreo arrives for Moto X4 Android One Edition

Motorola has started to upgrade the Moto X4 Android One Edition to Android 8.1 Oreo. This firmware roll out is now live in U.S for ‘retus’ software channel. It has been affirmed by the user on reddit forum and also shared the updated screenshot.

According to that image, the latest firmware for Moto X4 carries new version OPW28.46-3 and also updates the android version to 8.1. Another good news is it updates the security patch level of this device to March 1 2018. What’s new in Oreo 8.1? New Pixel 2 launcher like look, dark & light themes options, bug fixes and performance boost.

Users who hold the Moto X4 android one will receive the software update via OTA in phases. Once the automatic OTA pop-up on your device, download and install it. If you can’t wait for the automatic OTA, you can initiate it manually from Settings > About phone > System updates. Soon the Motorola will release the oreo 8.1 update for non-android one units.
