Android Nougat is out for Galaxy On5 and On5 Pro

Samsung had surprised the Galaxy On5 (2015) and On5 Pro (2016) by releasing the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. The Galaxy On5 users are awaited for this nougat os update for a long time. At launch the Galaxy On5 equipped with android lollipop os while On5 Pro version comes with android marshmallow os. Finally the company has released this update as a new year surprise for them.

Both handsets will receive this firmware update with the same baseband version G550FYXXU1CQL6. This major os update will be available to download via OTA and weighs in 961.44 MB (nearly 1GB). Because of its large file size Samsung recommend users to download this update via WiFi.

The nougat for on5 series brings several new features like Samsung Experience UX 8.5, Split screen, advanced notification controls, editable quick settings icon, improved doze mode, new performance modes, bug fixes and other enhancements. As i have already the update is happening through OTA, so it will take some time to reach all users.
