August security patch released for Google Pixel and Nexus devices

Google the giant has started to push latest security patch (i.e. August month) update for Pixel and Nexus range of devices. The lists of devices are Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Pixel C and Nexus Player. After installing of this firmware, the security patch level of these devices will be bumped to August 2017. The official factory and OTA image files are also available to download from Google. They have also published the security bulletin list for the August 2017 patch.

For Pixel and Pixel XL devices the new update arrives in different versions – NJH47F, NHG47Q (verizon), NKG47S (T-Mobile, Fi & Rogers carriers) and NZH54D (Deutsche Telekom). The pixel c will receive this update as N2G48C. For Nexus 6P, 5X and Nexus Player the update will hit as N2G48C. The nexus 6 model will get this update in two versions N6F27I and N8I11B. Finally the update for Nexus 9 tablet will land as N4F27K (LTE) and N9F27H (WiFi).

Google will send this security update as OTA for all the above specified devices. As the update will roll out in stages, so it may take some time to reach all devices. You can also download the factory image or full OTA image files from Google Developer site and flash it on your handset.
