Essential Phone now getting October patch and bug fix update

As scheduled, Essential brand has released a new firmware update for its flagship phone Essential PH-1. This update includes security patches, some enhancements and bug fixes for this device. The company has affirmed this software update on their twitter page. The user who updated their device has posted the screenshot on twitter.

According to that image, the latest update for essential phone will arrive with the build number NMJ20D. This update weighs in small size 74.8MB. Following are the list of bug fixes and enhancements that are included in this update.

• Installs the October month security patch

• Fix for KRACK WPA2 vulnerability

• Improves the touch scrolling performance

• Adds gesture support to Fingerprint (access notifications by swiping the fingerprint key)

• Performance tweaks and bug fixes

As usual, the company is rolling out this software update through OTA. Stay connected with wifi or mobile data to receive the OTA notification. Once the prompt is available for your device then download and install the update. You can also initiate the update manually from settings menu.

The issues spotted in this firmware are - notifications are display below the front camera, need to improve scrolling option, some apps requires twice back button tap to exit, google assistant full screen issue, long pressing fingerprint key disables the touch response and more.
