Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL launch event scheduled on May 8

Google has scheduled an event on May 8 to unveil the new Pixel series smartphones – Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL. This launch event has been officially confirmed by the teaser on flipkart which reveals it will be be exclusive to flipkart retailer. Also spotted the wide range of press materials that further affirms the launch of Pixel 3a series. Until now the Pixel series smartphones are priced above 50K to compete with Apple iPhone devices. Unlike previous Pixel devices, the upcoming Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL devices will focus on mid-range segment and it may be priced from 25K to 40k (depends upon the storage variants).

We’ve also got the key specs of this upcoming Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL, let’s see that below. The report claims Pixel 3a will arrive with 5.6-inch OLED FHD+ (2220 x 1080p) display, 18.5:9 aspect ratio (no notch), Always on Display, front and back will be protected by corning gorilla glass, running on android 9 pie os (pure android) and light weight design (150g). It packed with 3000 mAh battery (non-removable) that support 18W fast charging.

Next one Pixel 3a XL, this device may comes with 6-inch OLED FHD+ (2160 x 1080p) display, Always on display, 18:9 aspect ratio (again no notch design), protected by corning gorilla glass and it will run on android 9 pie latest os version. This device will be equipped with 3700 mAh battery that also compatible with 18W fast charge. Both Pixel 3a and 3a XL will arrive in three optional colors Black, White and Purple.

The fingerprint sensor for both devices has been placed on the back which means it failed to sport in-display fingerprint. Camera details are not disclosed, but we can expect both handsets may include 12.2MP main camera on back (no dual cameras) and 8MP selfie camera on front. It may also include Google’s Night Sight mode to shot amazing low light shots, which was used in Pixel 3 and 3 XL devices.

The leak also suggests the US pricing of Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL devices. As per the report, the price of Pixel 3a base model will start from $399 and for Pixel 3A XL it will be in $479. Both handsets will be available in two storage variants - 64GB and 128GB. Note the above described information are not official, we need to wait until Google officially presents these handset.
