October security patch released for HTC U11 (Unlocked) in U.S

New software update has started to hit unlocked version of HTC U11 in U.S. This firmware will update the security patch level of this handset to October month. The company has also updated the changelog at their official site. According to the support page, the software version of this latest update for HTC U11 will arrive in 1.28.617.30.

The update page also notifies that this firmware is for unlocked variant only. As we know the security update will fix vulnerabilities in OS and also enhance the system performance. HTC has confirmed the firmware roll out will occur in OTA. You can also check for the manual update from Settings > About > Software updates. Otherwise you can download the official ROM which weighs in 1.8GB from the support page. To install this downloaded ROM, you need to connect your handset to PC via HTC Sync Manager software.
