OnePlus 3/3T gets new Open Beta with Face unlock and launcher update

Followed by 5 and 5T, OnePlus 3/3T handsets also received android oreo based oxygen os open beta update. It also bump the launcher version to v2.3, adds new features, system enhancements and general bug fixes. They were rolling out these beta builds for oneplus 3 and 3t as Open Beta 30 (OP 3) and Open Beta 21 (OP 3T). As expected they’ve updated the full changelog on their official forum page.

Improvements in Launch app v2.3:

• Adds new categories in app drawer

• Automatic file renaming suggestion for similar apps

• New dynamic clock icon

• New Blue notification dots to notify the newly installed apps (will be removed after 15 days)

• Added Launcher tips and guidelines for first time usage

System:

• Enables Airtel VoLTE support in India

• New Face Unlock feature

• Adds OnePlus Switch app to easily backup & restore the data of one handset to another

• General bug fixes and other optimizations

Known issues:

• You may not able to use Airtel VoLTE feature, if your area didn’t had network coverage

• You may face compatibility issues with third party camera apps after installing this beta version

As i have already specified it’s a beta update, so only beta testers can download and install this update. The existing beta users can download this software update via OTA. Interested users can participate in open beta program by flashing the beta ROM on their devices. You can download the OTA file from official oneplus forum. Note once installed this update you can’t revert to previous version, suppose if you want to roll back to older version you need to flash your device with previous build.
