Back in June, Samsung has launched Galaxy M40 midrange smartphone in India for 20K price range. This handset has started to receive its first software update in India which brings enhancements and latest security updates. We’ve also got the update screenshots that reveals the new baseband version and changelog of this firmware.
According to the image, this latest OTA will update the baseband version of Galaxy M40 to M405FDDU1ASG2 (vary by model number). It also installs the June month android security patch, which is not latest one but we can expect the July patch before the end of this month. What’s the download size? The OTA update weighs in 378.40 MB and it’s available for download.
What’s new in this update? It improves the face recognition (i.e. face unlock) and camera performance, some users are reporting the unlocking speed of face unlock are faster compared to previous build. In addition to that this update also adds blue light filter option which was not available in Galaxy M40 at launch.
To install this software update on Galaxy M40, you need to connect your device to WiFi or mobile data and wait for the automatic update prompt. If you don’t have patience, you can manually check for the update from Settings > Software update and tap Download & Install option.
